Get Real is for parents (or other caring adults) and students to have an open conversation. To get started, we’ll need the parent (or other caring adult) to enter their school's code and create an account.

To match you up with your student’s class, and keep track of your progress, your student should have received a 4-digit code. Please enter it below.

Welcome to Get Real for Parents! Here you’ll find information about using this new online tool in your classroom.

Get Real engages parents and other caring adults as the primary sexuality educators of their children. Research shows that children want to talk to their parents and other caring adults about sex and sexuality. Although we know that these conversations might be uncomfortable for some, Get Real Family Activities give parents the strategies, tips, and tools they need to help facilitate a dialogue with their children. For each lesson in the middle school curriculum, students take home a packet which includes a letter that explains the class lesson, a Family Activity, and additional resources. The high school curriculum also includes Family Activities, embedded in introspective journaling assignments for three lessons, which continue to encourage dialogue between students and their parents and other caring adults.

We have recently developed an online tool for parents to complete the Family Activities in the Get Real curriculum, called Get Real for Parents. Instead of sending home a packet with students, the goal of Get Real for Parents is to make completing these activities as easy as possible on any device (computer, phone, or tablet). We’re excited to be able to offer this feature to classrooms and educators across the country this year!
